2 or 3 months ago, you good folks provided a ton of useful info for our driving trip from Missouri to your coast. I%26#39;ve analyzed it to death and wandered from the suggestions somewhat, and came up with 2 wks in the area. We prefer the ocean and other scenery over the in-town experiences. Our budget doesn%26#39;t permit some of the prime choices. So it now looks like this:
Aug 20-21 Mosier House, Mosier, Or.
Aug 22 Lanai by the Cove, Seaside
Aug 23-24 Coho Inn, Lincoln
Aug 25-26-27 Inn at Arch Rock, Depoe Bay
Aug 28-29-30 Cliff House, Waldport
Aug 31 Sep 1-2 Fireside, Yachats
Would like to hear comments. Thanks, Bob %26amp; Linda
Wanna critique my itinerary???
I only know about the Inn at Arch Cape and I think you will love staying there. Do you know which room yet?
They have/had lavender and rose gardens surrounding the property and it is a short walk down to the beach .. quiet as can be at night and the fireplace in the room is lovely .. The beds are very comfortable and big ..
Wanna critique my itinerary???
Okay, I had to re-red this a couple of times, before I got that you are driving from Missouri to Oregon, becuase I couldn%26#39;t understand where Mosier fit in, as it is not on the coast. So, I am going to assume that is a stop on the way to the coast??
If you are planning on there to explore the Gorge, keep in mind that it is east of Hood River, and not very convenient to the rest of the Gorge for exploring, dining, etc. IMHO. Was there a specific reason why you selected Mosier???
Scarlett, we have booked rm 6 as rm 7 was already taken at Arch Rock.
Mosier is kind of a shot in the dark as we prefer b%26amp;b to motel, but do not want to land in an inconvenient location. May need to rethink this one.
If you are looking to do the B%26amp;B thing in the Gorge, I recommend The Inn of the White Salmon.

They are just across the river from Hood River, but it is kind of a funky little town and it puts you in a good location to explore both sides of the river. You do have to cross the toll bridge ($1 each way) to get there, but I really like the place.
The question that crosses my mind is, why four separate overnight locations when the distance between Lincoln City and Yachats is only about 50 miles? And why only one night on the north coast? So, I%26#39;d suggest adding at least one night to the north coast, and limiting the central coast to two overnight locations. And of those you%26#39;ve listed, Depoe Bay and Yachats would be my choices.
Scarlett, I think you%26#39;re confusing Inn at Arch Rock with Inn at Arch Cape. Easy to do; arches everywhere around here! ;-)
Ack !! I read it twice and I saw Arch Cape ... sorry bob .. I was mistaken.. Thank you mistletoe ! You are so kind... lol...
Hi Bob %26amp; Linda, I think I remember you . . .
My question is the same as mistletoe%26#39;s ~ why four places within just an hour%26#39;s drive?
Well Depoe Bay my favorite place on coast. And I sure agree about the moving, Lincoln City to Depor bay 12 miles, DB to Waldport 28 miles, waldport to Yachats 8 miles.
If you want to move like that suggest you move further like to Bandon or Gold beach
Well, the concensus is that I%26#39;ve made too many short hops. Mistletoe and half-Brit are most convincing. So I%26#39;m going to redo the whole thing and follow your advices. Maybe upgrade a bit also. Thanks so much for pointing out my problem. Y%26#39;all are great!
