I am looking to book a stay at Mendocino (Brewery Gulch Inn) and Gold Beach (Tu Tu Tun Lodge) for a total of 3 nights. Not sure whether to do 2 nights in Mendocino, or instead do the 2 night stay at the Tu Tu Tun Lodge. Both look really nice, but can anyone offer any advice as to which is a better place to stay for a couple of days?
Thanks!
Mendocino or Gold Beach (Tu Tu Tun Lodge)
If taking a jet boat trip up the Rogue interests you, then a couple nights in Gold Beach will be the thing.
Mendocino or Gold Beach (Tu Tu Tun Lodge)
Pop down onto the the Mendocino forum and ask about it there - I think there are some regulars who are familiar with it.
It depends somewaht on what you want to do whilst you are there? Tu Tu Tun is upriver, so to go to the beach it%26#39;s a 9 mile drive. Gold Beach is a rather, er, ';rustic'; town with not a lot to do . . . although there is a new art gallery and a good bookstore ;-)
thanks very much for your inputs!
It really depends on what you want to do on your layover day. If relaxing in a scenic place and/or taking a jet boat trip sounds good, then I%26#39;d go for Tu Tu Tun for 2 nights. If you want to explore a nice town and/or do some short hikes in contrasting environments, then Mendocino would be better (although Brewery Gulch is pretty far back from the water so I%26#39;d personally try to choose something on the water if you can).
