My partner and I are driving from Vancouver to Mendocino and have 3 nights to spend on the Oregon Coast.
Having real trouble deciding on the best places to stop as high quality B%26amp;B%26#39;s are not that easy to come by it seems on that stretch of coast. We like good quality, clean, up to date decorations etc. We are looking for an authentic experience, but nothing too dated and tired in terms of room quality.
We were thinking of possibly driving Vancouver to Cannon Beach on Day 1 (overnight in Cannon Beach), then onto Yachats (or possibly Reedsport or Florence), and then somewhere further down the coast, (Brookings, POrt Orford, GOld Beach?).
I have read up a little, but would appreciate any insider knowledge on where is good to stay and any good B%26amp;B recommendations.
Thanks

The Stephanie Inn is one of the nicest places to stay on the entire Oregon Coast, it is in Cannon Beach. :)
Top Quality B%26amp;Bs on Oregon Coast
thanks - I%26#39;ll look it up!
Like many/most other quality lodgings in Cannon Beach, Stephanie Inn has minimum stay requirements during the summer season, so may be a problem. You might check out this place, five miles down the road in Arch Cape: http://www.archcapeinn.com/ . It was nice when we were there... 8 years ago? It%26#39;s changed owners since then.
For the Yachats area, have a look at Haceta Head Lighthouse: http://www.hecetalighthouse.com/ . Overleaf Lodge would be another option. It%26#39;s not really a B%26amp;B (though a breakfast is included), but has what I think is the best setting on the entire Oregon coast.
Best place on the south coast is easily Tu Tu Tun: http://www.tututun.com/main.html . There again, though, you might have a minimum stay requirement.
Just for grins, I%26#39;ll toss out Whale Cove Inn: http://www.whalecoveinn.net/ . It%26#39;s not a B%26amp;B either, but no question that it%26#39;s a nice place!
In nearby Seaside, check out www.theseasideinn.com This property is right on the prom and steps away from the ocean. We dined a few days ago at Maggie%26#39;s on the Prom, the very good restaurant there. :)
thank you for your contributions - I will investigate further!
The Benjamin Young Inn is a delightful B%26amp;B in Astoria OR way up in upper left hand corner. It dates from the 1800%26#39;s with lovely crystal arranged on well cared for antiques. For my anniversary, the owner and manager made an extra effort to make breakfast special. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys antiques.
Like syrahgirl, I never stayed at the Stephanie Inn but it is quite a beautiful hotel. But I also like the SurfSand .. But they aren%26#39;t B%26amp;B%26#39;s ...
Did anyone mention Cannon Beach minimum stays?
I think they are still 2 night, Arch Cape was 3 nights ..
I think the Arch Cape Inn is beautiful but have not stayed there.. but would have if I had known about it :)
We stayed at the Inn at Arch Cape... which has fireplaces in every unit but also a minimum..

The above-recommended Whale Cove Inn is brand new and top of the line, according to reviews.
Tu Tu Tun is inland upriver about 8 miles, not on the ocean.
In Bandon, check Lighthouse B%26amp;B and Alder House B%26amp;B.
You might also look into Trinidad, CA: Lost Whale Inn and Trinidad Bay B%26amp;B.
