We will be spending a few hours in Lincoln City on the way up to Cannon Beach. We would like to collect some rocks for our garden. The rocks do not have to be agates. Most of the information on-line states that Lincoln City Beach is a great place for rock collecting but can someone provide direction for a specific area, since the beach is many miles long?
Best section of beach to collect rock in Lincoln City
I do not think of beaches in Lincoln City as rocky. Mostly sand. What size rocks are you thinking of? pebbles?

If you%26#39;re driving north on 101 to arrive in Lincoln City and will pass thru Seal Rock, I suggest stopping JUST NORTH of town, on Carter St.,a small pulloff on the ocean side. Check the tide tables, and during low tide there are more rocks there than we have ever seen before. We had a beach house just south of there for years, and we, literally, have thousands of amazing agates we have collected.
I%26#39;m going to agree with phirl here regarding the LC beaches being mostly sand. Can you give some specific names of places you have found in your online research - that says they are good for rock collecting?
Lost Creek SP has lots of small rocks.
What size(s) are you looking for?
We are looking for relatively small rocks, from the size of a quarter to an egg. The largest we would ever take is about the size of a baseball, but it would have to be a very good one (unusual color, shape, etc)!
We are also open to other towns on the way north to Cannon Beach. Thanks!
