Route from Newport to Portland

We will be traveling on a Thursday morning from Newport to Portland. We need to get to the airport in Portland for our flight out at 11:00 am. Highway 5 seems to go across from Newport to I-5 through Cornwallis. Is that the quickest route? Thanks!

Do you mean hwy 20, not 5, to Corvallis?

Hwy 20 goes from Newport to Corvallis. From Corvallis 34 is quickest to I5. but you are talking close to 3 hour drive to airport.

Does your flight actually *leave* at 11:00 am? Or is that the time you need to be at the airport?

If it leaves at 11:00 am, you%26#39;ll need to be there by 9:30 am at the latest.

From Newport, the fastest way to Portland is to go north on Hwy 101 through Lincoln City, then east on Hwy 18, east on Hwy 22 to Salem, then north on I-5 to I-205 to the airport.

You may be able to do it in 3 hours but allowing 3.5 hours would be better.

Hwy 20 is slower.

Thank you all so much for responding. Yes, I did mean Hwy 20 to Corvallis. As you might have noticed, I was doing this much too late at night! We will be sure to allow at least 3.5 hours. Can%26#39;t wait to visit your beautiful state for the first time!
