There are some nice wineries in the Dundee area: Archery Summit, Domaine Drouhin, Domaine Serene and Torii Mor are all very nice. Check out the Dundee Bistro for a meal or Tina%26#39;s. We also loved the Joel Palmer House in Dayton. Have a nice trip! :)

Pumpkin Ridge is about 20 miles from downtown Portland; Brookside Inn and Chehalem are about 45 minutes from downtown Portland; Bandon Dunes is on the southern Oregon Coast over 200 miles from Portland (definitely not in the Willamette Valley).
Thank you Oregonpoppa,perfect information.
Any lodging recommendations for Bandon Dunes, just the two of us.
Your husband could possibly walk on as a single, but I don%26#39;t think he could get a tee time at Bandon Dunes unless you%26#39;re also planning to stay at the Resort. So, I%26#39;d suggest booking a room there. Lots of good choices; we%26#39;ve always been happy in one of the Lily Pond buildings. You might also ask about a spa, as I remember hearing something about plans to build one a couple years ago.
As oregonpoppa said, Pumpkin Ridge is easily reached from Portland. There are two courses there, and they%26#39;re both very good. But, unless your husband plays at a Club that has a reciprocity agreement, he won%26#39;t be able to play the one he%26#39;s seen on TV. In any case, he should play Pumpkin Ridge first, because anything after Bandon Dunes will be a let down.
The heart of wine country is also within an hour%26#39;s drive from Portland, so most visitors just make tasting a day trip (or two). In that way, they have easier access to Portland%26#39;s dining scene. And we%26#39;ve got some great restaurants here. Once you%26#39;ve firmed up plans, we%26#39;ll have lots of recommendations, for both wining and dining. ;-)
Thanks for your replies, will post after I have firm plsns, thinking about flying into Portland and out of North Bend....
Fly out of North Bend? Don%26#39;t think so.
As far as I know, the only major air connections out of Oregon are Portland, Eugene, Medford and Redmond (which is just north of Bend in Central Oregon, but nowhere near North Bend, which is on the coast).
I know, doesn%26#39;t make sense. It took me a long time to get it through my head that North Bend had nothing at all to do with Bend.
Mistletoe is correct...Bandon is building a spa. I don%26#39;t know when the completion date is set for, so you might call and ask.
