Portland/Beaverton Accomodation

I hate trying to find a hotel in a city I%26#39;m not familiar with. My wife and I are driving to the Portland/Beaverton area at the end of July. I am looking for hotel recommendations. What is important is cleanliness, pool (preferably outdoors), kitchenette, near shopping in the $100 to $125 range. Recommendations appreciated.

Portland/Beaverton Accomodation

The Portland/Beaverton area is too wide an area to give you a good recommendation. Can you give a more specific part of town - eg near Hwy 26 or near Washington Square or ??

Portland/Beaverton Accomodation

Sorry I can%26#39;t give you any specifics. I haven%26#39;t stayed in the area for 30 years all I remember is that Beaverton had a large mall. We would like to take in some sites, shopping (golf stores for me, clothing etc for the wife)and just R %26amp; R.

Hello,

You might be talking about Washington Square that is actually in Tigard (not Beaverton). Although very close to Beaverton. There is a Embassy Suites in Tigard that is next to Washington Square. Not sure what the price range is.

Hi.

About 12 -15 miles west of Portland is the ';confluence'; of Hillsboro, Aloha, Beaverton and Portland....an area widely known as Tanasbourne. It is right on Hwy 26. There is a shopping center at 185th st. with Target, Best Buy, Bed,Bath%26amp;Beyond and a few others at that location, and then further west a bit is another shipping center with a Macy%26#39;s, Coldwater Creek, REI and other more ';upper crust'; shopping and its called ';The Streets of Tanasbourne';.

There are several lodging options in the vicinity that might serve your needs:

Marriott Residence Inn which we have used on multiple occassions and have no complaint with whatever- their lowest rate was about 129 last year, it has probably changed. I believe if you look it up its called the Portland/West location.

Marriott Garden Inn is just down the street, more of a business class place, have not used it , but have seen it and looks well kept.

Between the Bethany exit off Hwy26 and the PCC-Rock Creek/185th exit are a Hilton, Phoenix Inn and Suites, a Ramada and one other well known chain that escapes me at the moment. The Phoenix is on the north side of the highway, the other 3 are on the south side, located in a huge office park. There are a couple of restaurants very nearby and the Tanasbourn shopping areas are within a mile or so.

To my knowledge, all have pools, the RI has a kitchenette; the rest I would hesitate to say for sure. We had family from across the country here last summer so I had looked into all of these as potential lodging for them...they all chose the Residence Inn.

I really don%26#39;t know about their rates at this time, but you could check them out easily enough.

Other things to do in the area might be to check out our wineries ( see Hillsboro, Forest Grove and Helevetia),visit the buffalo or alpaca farms, golf at Pumpkin Ridge.

You would be about 20 minutes from the edge of downtown ( not during rush hour) Portland.

Sorry for the double post, I got distracted by the dog.....

That third motel is, I think, a Homestead Inn and Suites...

while it%26#39;s been a few years, I used the Homestead Suites and found them excellent. I don%26#39;t know if they still do, but at that time they not only had an excellent breakfast, but a light dinner in the evening included in the rates. They would be worth checking into.
