best, reasonably priced restaurants in Portland
Hi - we%26#39;re going to be visiting Portland for two days, and will spend a good deal of time enjoying the japanese and chinese gardens, and wandering around. I suppose ';central city district'; is as good a locale as any. ';Moderately priced'; would mean anywhere between $18-$25/person. Again, many thanks... Bill
In that price range I like Sungari Pearl, PF Changs, Piazza Italia and Fenouil.
You have plenty to choose from. Any particular ethnic type of food? Portland is known for having a high number of ethnic restaurants per capita.
Thyphoon on 23rd in NW
I also agree with Sungari Pearl
Deschutes Brewery for trying out some great beers with high end pub food
Plainfield%26#39;s Mayur for Indian in a beautiful old house with nice patio
You can also get great value during happy hour at over half the restuarants in Portland, it seems, between the hours of 3-7. This is a good website to check hours, dates and locations:

Clyde Common is a great place (communal tables, which can be fun...or not...depending on your mood).
Andina for fun ';tapas'; style food from Peru. Try a Pisco Sour before dinner! I%26#39;m bummed that I ran out of the Pisco I brought home from Chile (which was much less expensive than it is here LOL)
If you like sushi....Masu.
For Thai....Typhoon or E-San.
Oh rats, now I am getting hungry!
Last summer we enjoyed a very nice meal at Andina, we also love Park Kitchen in the Pearl District. Let us know where you end up! :)
wonderful support from you guys, and it%26#39;s much appreciated. I%26#39;m sending a cumulative list to our two friends, with whom we%26#39;re traveling, and will let everyone know the ';grand winner'; :)
If new thoughts come along, please let me know
I%26#39;ll keep the e-mail posting me when anyone else posts, and add names to the list.
One more thought - we LOVE seafood. Any ideas in that price range?
Bill
Anyone here been to Del Inti yet? It%26#39;s a relatively new place owned/operated by a former sous chef at Andina. Menu is supposedly similar to Andina, food just as good, but because it%26#39;s not in the high rent district of the Pearl, less expensive.
Just about every good restaurant around here will have some seafood on the menu poemweaver, except maybe for some of the ethnic places. Southpark Seafood Grill, however, has more offerings than most others.
Yep, in downtown, my seafood thought was South Park. IF you wanted to venture away from downtown, I%26#39;d recommend Salty%26#39;s on the Columbia.
Locals, is Seasons and Regions still open? If so, that is another great choice, but not downtown, it is in the SW part of the city.
Here are lists of some of the popular restaurants in town, on the downtown/Pearl side..
Not sure about what is reasonable anymore lol ...
( we have family in Mt Vernon .. is it warm and sunny yet?)
