A girlfriend and I have one day in Portland after a course to do some shopping, eating and sightseeing. We would love to be in an area within walking distance of great unique boutiques and great eats. Can someone suggest a neighbourhood to stay in? I%26#39;ve looked on www.discoverportland shopping and so far am intrigued by the shops on: NW 23rd Nob Hill %26amp; NE Alberta...
We have to book our hotel soon and ANY advice is appreciated (restaurant suggestions welcome too!) as we both have never been to Portland.

Here is a list of hotels, the Inn at Northrup Station is close to good shopping and walking.. but everything in downtown Portland is fairly close to good shopping, walking, eating :)
