Where in Willamette Valley? The valley stretches from around Cottage Grove all the way up to Portland.

Your ultimate destination will influence recommendations.

Fastest route is to head over to I-5 from Sonoma and take it up. That%26#39;s about 8 - 12 hours depending on traffic. A nice stop is in Ashland, beautiful little town with a great Shakespear festival and really nice hotels. When I drive to Napa I always spend a night in Ashland.

Not sure what your interests are. Let us know and everyone will be helpful.

Yes, fastest would be up I-5. But IMO ';best'; would be up the gorgeous CA and OR coast on 101. Allow at least 3 days/2 nights for that route, but longer is better since there%26#39;s so much to see and do.

We drove up the coast from St.Helena to Jacksonville, OR (near Ashland) a couple of years ago. It took about 8 hours but was well worth it, one of the prettiest drives we%26#39;ve ever taken. If you can take the time to drive the coast it should be very rewarding. If you do stop in the Medford/Jacksonville/Ashland area and are a Bleu Cheese fan stop by Rogue Creamery for some Smokey Bleu.
