Ideas for a 3 day adventure along the Oregon coast from Newport to Astoria - then departure from Portland airport.
Newport and up the coast to Astoria
I would explore Tillamook, there is the Cheese Factory there and a cool Air Museum, Manzanita is pretty and Cannon Beach and Seaside are also favorite areas of ours. Where are you planning to overnight? :)

The Three Capes Scenic route is very nice. Lots of places to stop and wander and/or hike. Pacific City/Cape Kiwanda is nice, and along that route. The Pelican Pub there is good, and right on the beach. If it is nice out, sit out on the deck. Definitely walk to the top of the dune there as the scenery is pretty good.
Thank you for the response. We like to stay in B%26amp;B. Also, approximately what is an estimate of the amount of time it would take to travel from Newport up the coast on 101?
There are many nice B%26amp;B%26#39;s in Astoria. Clementine%26#39;s, Britta%26#39;s Inn, Rose River Inn all get good reviews on this site. I have also heard good things about the Rosebriar Hotel in Astoria. :)
Driving time from Newport to Astoria is 3 to 4 hrs. How long it actually takes to make the trip depends entirely on where you stop and the time you spend there. From Astoria to Portland - 90 minutes to 2 hrs.
There are numerous B%26amp;Bs along the north coast. We stayed at the Tyee Lodge in Newport several years ago and it was very nice. The Channel House in Depoe Bay also gets great reviews.

Two nights and three days, or three nights?
Tillamook is inland, not on the ocean. Cannon Beach has minimum stay requirements. Both Cannon Beach and Seaside are terrifically congested and busy in the summer; so is Lincoln City.
If you want oceanfront lodging you will need to book asap if you%26#39;re visiting in the summer.
