Oregon-Trailer camping in early August

We are planning on a trip this August with two adults andour 13 and 7 year old boys in mind (and a dog). We have a 30%26#39; trailer, and want to see the Oregon Coast, travel the Willamette Valley (wineries), and spend some time in Portland. We will have 10 nights. Any ';must-see'; attractions or special RV parks that anyone would recommend? Or restaurant recommendations? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

The best campgrounds along the coast are the state parks - they all have wonderful beach access.

I would go to Oregonstateparks.org and follow the links to see which campgrounds have vacancies, as they are very popular.

Seaside is definitely a fun city for kids and Newport has excellent attractions with the Oregon Coast Aquarium.

I love Silver Falls State Park in the Willamette Valley (another reservation place). The waterfalls are wonderful to hike around and under.

Hi and welcome to TripAdvisor. Well, as a long%26#39;time RV%26#39;er, I must disagree that the ';best'; campgrounds with a trailer or motorhome are State Parks. There is only ONE State Park in Oregon that is on the ocean -- where you can be in your rig and see the ocean. There are several RV parks that have excellent views. However, if you don%26#39;t mind having to walk or drive to see the ocean, then do check out the SP%26#39;s. You must book well ahead as they are full in August. Although most of them have *some* full hookups, those spaces are limited!

(I am of course using the standard accepted definition of full hookups: water, power, *and* sewer.)

Do you have 10 nights for your whole trip? From Ojai? It will take you 3 nights just to get to Oregon, won%26#39;t it? And 3 to get home?

So I don%26#39;t think you will have enough time to see all you want to . . .

But maybe you have 10 nights just for Oregon? How many nights do you want to spend on the coast, and waht is your proposed route/itinerary?
